A little less than three years ago Mick received an acceptance letter to law school. We talked and talked about what we were going to do....should we stay here or should we move? You see the school was not in Dallas and would require us to move to a new city. Gulp. I had never lived anywhere else except Dallas and Abilene. Okay, if you count Grand Prairie as another city (I kind of group it with Dallas) then I've lived in only three cities in my life. I did not want to move away from my immediate family and move to a city where I knew no one. I loved my job and was very content with my life. However, I knew that this career change for Mick was something very important to him and in the long run would benefit our family. So...many, MANY tears later we had moved our little family of three to Houston, TX.
In August Mick started school and I started work at Texas Children's Hospital. The adjustment to a new city, new school, and new job was very overwhelming...for both of us. Graham was around 22 months old when we moved, so he had no clue what was going on. Lucky boy. Over the next couple of months we got more settled and found a church that we loved. The church led us to good friends for which I am so thankful.
Two and half years later Mick graduated and we moved back to Dallas. I could not have been happier to be back "home", although I missed the friends and job I had grown to love.
After the first of the year, Mick started studying for the dreaded bar. He studied and studied for the three day test. Then for the next two and a half months we waited for the results.....well, today we found out that HE PASSED! He did it! And I've never been more proud of him.
So our three year (almost) journey has finally come to an end. Yea!! I thought this day would never come.
I think we're ready for our next adventure....as long as it's in Dallas :)
