Hodge Podge

Where to begin, where to begin! We have been busy lately and have a lot of changes occurring in our lives soon. One of them being a baby! Surprise...I'm pregnant (in case you didn't know)! We still have not decided on a name, so any suggestions would be appreciated. He may just be "baby boy Kennedy" for awhile until we can come up with something we both agree on. I'm feeling good, just getting pretty tired by the end of the day. I'm soooooo glad this baby will be born before it gets really hot here in Houston. The heat tends to make me grumpy these days....not to mention I sweat in places I shouldn't sweat! YUCK! Below is a belly picture for those who care. I went to the doctor last week and everything was great...now I start going every 2 weeks. The plan is to have this baby the first week of June...unless he has other plans!

Mick is finishing up his semester of school. I have to brag on him for a minute...he made the Dean's list for this semester! I'm so proud of him! I know he's worked really hard and it's paying off. He has accepted a position at the DA's office again this summer....good thing is it will be a PAID internship! Yea! Last summer he worked there for free, so it'll be nice for him to learn and make a little money! I can't believe that he will finish school in December! We are both very excited and can't wait to see what the next few years have in store for us.

Graham is doing well. He is having some "terrible three" moments, but I'm learning to practice my patience. He has started to tell us everyday that he doesn't want to go to school...last week he threw the covers over his head and told me "I don't want to go to school, Mommy". Seriously, he's three...Somehow I think this is a glimpse into my future when Graham is a teenager. He is completely potty trained and is finally sleeping in a regular bed! Just in time for the baby to arrive. Graham understands that there is a baby in my tummy, but he doesn't understand that the baby will one day come and live in his house. I'm sure we'll be having more "terrible three" moments when the baby is born.

Finally, the thing that will keep us the most busy in the next few weeks....we're moving to a new house. Exactly the thing I said I would not do again until we move to Dallas. Well, this offer is too good to pass up. A lady that Mick works with owns a Hospice agency and she bought a house (close to ours) to have her business in. Well, she gutted the house and had the whole inside redone. She had moved all of her office staff in the house and had been working out of it for 3 weeks when the HOA told her she couldn't have the house be an office (unless someone stayed there at night). So she decided to move the business and lease the property until she decides to sell it at some point. Well, long story short...she offered for us to lease the house until we move back to Dallas. And here's the kicker...she only wants enough each month to cover the taxes on the property. this means our rent will be less than half of what we're paying now. CRAZY! The house is double the square footage as our current one and much newer! We are very excited! The house does have some downfalls, but we can deal with them...especially since this is a temporary move. Below are some pictures of the house. Our big obstacle right now is finding new day care for Graham. So say a little prayer that we find something soon. I would love to move before I get any bigger (or it gets any hotter!).

I'm so sorry that Graham will have to leave his friends at day care; he's developed such positive relationships with Brennen, Brendan, Christopher, and Slobber Boy among others. I'm sure he will adjust and make other friends that are as close and as much fun. I just don't know if we will have as much fun with his new friendships!

The house looks great and I'm very excited you will have extra room. Can't wait to see it! Love, Guess who?

That kitchen is great! Such a pain to move, but you can't pass up that deal. Mom said it was even within walking distance to your hospital. Not that would have to do that or anything, but it would be nice.

I didn't know you even started potty training. I guess he was ready if it didn't take long. Yea, only one in diapers!

You still look really good. I'm sure it doesn't feel that way, but you are still so tiny!

Seriously, pick a name already. Of the choices Mick told me, I vote for Holden, NOT Preston! I also like Brayden, Cole, and Cooper.

Can't wait to see you FOUR!

WOW! That house looks awesome! Too bad y'all couldn't have found that sooner, and taken advantage of it for longer than just a few months. I'm so glad that Graham will have a nice big backyard to play in for the summer.

Yes, we hope that Graham meets some new friends just like the ones at his old school. Sadly though, we won't get as much enjoyment out of listening to him list the names of his new friends.

Love,
Aunt Brooke

What a deal ... you have to move! That is awesome! Funny how things always work out. Glad to hear things are going well. Sorry you are having to move though. Hope we can see you guys soon. I am coming with my mom to Houston (to Jessica's) around mid-May ... maybe I can see you then.

The house looks super. Mick let me know if you want or need help moving. "Slobber Boy"? What have we been missing?
Love you three, Papa
